SENATE JOURNAL
EIGHTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE — REGULAR SESSION

AUSTIN, TEXAS

PROCEEDINGS

THIRTY-FOURTH DAY
(Continued)
(Thursday, April 13, 2023)

AFTER RECESS

The Senate met at 11:03 a.m. and was called to order by President Pro Tempore Hancock.

Pastor Brian Treadaway, Vertical Church Ovilla, offered the invocation as follows:

O God, it is with great humility that I stand before You today. You are the maker of the heavens and the Earth, the one who holds all things by Your mighty power, and the one who has shown us the way of life in Your son, Jesus. It is in that name that I pray for these great men and women today. I pray for wisdom. Like Solomon, may they be filled with insight, understanding, and clarity for leading. I pray for courage. Like Moses, may they have the boldness to stand for truth regardless of the cost. I pray for protection. Guard these halls with Your mighty hand. Watch over their families. Keep them by Your strength. For this day, this time, You have assembled them for a mighty task. I ask You to bless them in the name of Jesus. Amen.
